am I addicted to social networks?

In recent months I have stopped talking a lot with my friends and close friends to through social networks, I understand it, they are all busy with their careers and jobs, and so I am. That is equivalent to not using my phone much because I don't have anyone to talk to, but nooooooo!

It is when I have become more addicted to social networks like Instagram or Tiktok.

I decided to close my Instagram and Tiktok, but I did not last a week without them because apart from using them as a distraction, I find out about important things like through JUNAEB, Dirbde, the school my brother studies at, etc.

In my detoxification mode, I have even messed with getting rid of my cell phone, but I have WhatsApp on it and I am in contact with the university work groups.

I have come to the conclusion, I am crazy! I think that if I did not have to be in contact with the work groups, I would have already gotten rid of my cell phone, which the truth would have lasted only a few days too, but hey ...

Am I imposing self-control? And it is.

Am I succeeding? I do not know.

How have your experiences with social netwoks?

  1. Hahaha your post was very funny. I, personally, only have Whatsapp and Instagram. So I believe that I am not in this social network "dementia" haha. But I hope that you can develop an equilibrium. Also, all this work tests are driving me mad haha

  2. I think we can learn to use them more responsibly, learn to leave the phone when you're studying and use it to relax a bit. It's hard, but there are apps that help you study: they block your phone for a while. Maybe you can try them

  4. hi! Like Valentina, I put a time limit for social media on my cellphone, but when the message appear, I skip it! I think is very normal at this time to be so attached to social media, because it is the only way that many of us have to be in contact with friend, see other people and do something similar to socialize.

  6. Hi Darlyn! I enjoyed your post, I think most of us have fallen into that addiction to social networks at some point. I remember once YouTube asked me if I wanted to receive a reminder to stop watching videos and go to sleep hahaha (then I knew I hit rock bottom lol).

  7. Ooh, I understand you perfectly. In my case, a few weeks ago I disabled my Instagram account. Now everything is a bit boring... (what nobody knows is that I have made another to see memes hehe)

  8. Something very similar happens to me! I have a love-hate relationship with them. Sometimes I am a little embarrassed to check how many hours I spend on instagram daily. And since I discovered the world of tik tok I lost a little more control...

  9. I understand you a lot Darlyn! but I think that in my case more than an addiction to social networks, I am addicted to watching content, I am used to spending a lot of time watching weirds tiktoks or useless videos on YouTube haha

  11. The context it's not helping to evade such sicknesses, but is good to lost the contact with the world occasionally, the social networks are the worst thing, nothing more than a neccesary evil thing

  12. Like you, there are times when I prefer to take a break from social networks... they consume too much time! But it's also true that in these days when everything is lockdown and online university, they are a good source of distraction to avoid going crazy!!
